I'm gonna be very brief since no one seems to read this anymore. My last post below was getting into homeless habits I don't understand. I'm gonna comment on some things.

1. Why do hardcore homeless people wear shoes with their heel not in the shoe? If you ever noticed, some homeless people do not put their entire foot in the shoe. They put their foot halfway in & then press down on the back of the shoe with their foot. I can understand them having bad hygiene (not taking showers) because of their mental state. But I don't understand this shoe thing.

2. Why do 95% of homeless people like watching shows about people getting killed? I know the rest of the world likes shows like CSI, Cold Case, 48 Hours Mystery, etc. They can watch these shows ALL DAY LONG!!! Don't y'all start getting depressed after watching this? It would depress me to watch someone examine how someone else got killed. I had a dream one day on how I would fix the situation. I would stand in front of the TV and start taking votes. I would say, "everyone that likes murder movies & shows please stand up." The people would stand. Then I would say, "y'all like watching this all day? If so, keep standing." Only a few people would sit down but 95% of them would still be standing. Now I would say, "y'all people like watching other folks die huh?" Then I would pull a gun out my pants and start shooting everyone that is still standing. "How about you like watching yourself die?" That's my dream. To me, it's ok to watch 2 or 3 shows but not ALL DAY LONG!!! I would rather watch something like comedy, sports, or reality shows. Because it's positive and it puts you in a good mood. If y'all people are in a good mood watching murder stuff all day, something is wrong with you.

Ok. That covers it. I will not post anything else for a while until this blog starts gaining more popularity. That's it yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grammy Wrap-Up & Super Bowl Thoughts

Look who it is! The Jay man back tallying up his Grammy predictions. Also I will just share what I thought about the Super Bowl.

String of Posts 1/General Category: I was 3 for 4. The only one I got wrong was Record Of The Year. I found out Use Somebody stayed in the top 50 best-selling singles of 2009 ever since it debuted on the Billboard charts. That's 52 weeks of good sales. That's why they won.

String of Posts 2/Pop Category: I was 4 for 7. Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals I will comment on. I picked Taylor Swift & Colbie Caillat. I had the right idea here but didn't have the info I needed. I didn't know that these two wrote 80% of Taylor Swift's Fearless. You can't write more than 40% on somebody's CD to win this category. The rest of my wrong categories I just flat out missed.

String of Posts 3/Rock-Music Video Category: I was a combined 3 for 9. I got all of the music category wrong. And I really don't listen to rock music so that's my excuse for doing so bad.

String of Posts 4/R&B Category: I was 6 for 8. This music fits my stereotype. That's why I did so good in predictions. I would have picked another one right if I wouldn't have tried to give Jamie Foxx credit in the best R&B song category.

String of Posts 5/Country Category: I was 5 for 7. I am suprised I did well here! I really don't listen to country music. Chalk this one up to Billboard chart research. The best country instrumental performance category was totally a coin flip that worked.

String of Posts 6/Rap Category: I was 1 for 5. BIG SHOCKER!!!! I claimed I had the best knowledge of this category. Guess not!! I feel I got robbed this category. Jay-Z & Eminem dominated here. I personally feel the reason why they dominated is because they were actually at the Grammys. They won everything because they were personally in attendance. Some of the people I picked were not at the Grammys. Eminem's Crack A Bottle won best rap performance by a group? I don't understand this because the song doesn't even have a video. (To make things worse, my favorite artist Kanye West wasn't at the Grammys) Oh Well!

SUPER BOWL

Congrats to the Saints. They took advantage of Manning's interception to score a defensive touchdown. It was Manning's only mistake the whole game. I was going for the Colts & lost money. Not mad though. The Saints didn't have a turnover & managed the game well. Good Super Bowl and the commercials were okay. My fav commercial was the one where the child slapped the grown man for liking his mother. Funny as hell.

The last string of post for the Grammys. How is everyone? All is well I suppose. Well, here is the last category for the Grammys on Sunday. Make sure to tune in on channel 11 at 7PM. That is the time frame it's coming on. I saved the Rap Category because it is my favorite. Most of my peers also like rap music. But you can't really measure a rap artist's success until they start winning Grammys. So, without further ado, here are my picks.........

Best Rap Solo Performance Nominees Are: Jay Z-D.O.A./Mos Def-Casa Bey/Eminem-Beautiful/Drake-Best I Ever Had/Kid Cudi-Day N Nite

My Prediction: 1. Eminem, good song about him returning to the rap industry. Also Eminem's "Relapse" CD is the best selling rap CD in 2009 according to the Billboard charts 2. Kid Cudi, signed with Kanye West's record label. The video is good because it switches between real life & cartoon drawings

Best Rap Performance By A Duo or Group Nominees Are: Eminem, Dr. Dre, & 50 Cent-Crack A Bottle/Kid Cudi, Kanye West, & Common-Make Her Say/Fabolous & Jay Z-Money Goes Honey Stay/Kanye West & Young Jeezy-Amazing/Beastie Boys & Nas-Too Many Rappers

My Prediction: 1. Kanye West & Young Jeezy, this song was the theme song for the commercials of the 2009 NBA playoffs 2. Fabolous & Jay Z, song tries to break a long time stereotype that most rappers know about

Best Rap Sung Collaboration Nominees Are: Keri Hilson, Kanye West, & NeYo-Knock You Down/Jay Z, Rihanna, & Kanye West-Run This Town/The Lonely Island & T Pain-I'm On A Boat/Beyonce & Kanye West-Ego/T.I. & Justin Timberlake-Dead And Gone

My Prediction: 1. T.I. & Justin Timberlake, true to heart song about T.I. maturing through his life. Song is off T.I.'s most sincere album "Paper Trail" 2. Keri Hilson Kanye West & NeYo, song about two guys torn between a woman. This song did well in the Hot 100 on the Billboard charts staying in the top ten songs when Keri Hilson's "In A Perfect World" came out

My Prediction: 1. Drake, took the 2009 rap world by storm. Was not signed with any record label when he blew up. (Bonus: Kanye West directed the video) Video is about Drake coaching a sorry girls basketball team. Drake also is an actor that played on the Nickelodeon TV show Degrassi The Next Generation 2. T.I. & Justin Timberlake, (already explained in previous category)

Best Rap Album Nominees Are: Flo Rida-R.O.O.T.S./Eminem-Relapse/Q Tip-The Renaissance/Common-Universal Mind Control/Mos Def-The Ecstatic

My Prediction: 1. Eminem, (again already explained in the 1st category) 2. Common, has been around too long and deserves a Grammy. He really is more underground but has done a lot for the rap industry. He is a lyricist rapper that is not flashy.

Ok. That finishes off the Grammy predictions. Like I mentioned in String of Posts 5, I'm going to have a post where I count up all my correct predictions to see how accurate I was. Remember, whoever your favorite artists are, you want them to win Grammy awards so they can be credible. It doesn't make any sense to cheer for a one-hit wonder because they couldn't last. Also, if you want to be an artist yourself, study from the best with the most respect. Winning Grammys proves how much respect people have for you. I don't know what my next topic will be on so just keep looking out for 4realz on this Club Speakeasy post. Until the next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(The reason I say this is because the Taylor Swift-Fearless CD is the NUMBER ONE CD OF 2009 according to the Billboard charts. She is also helping the country music industry become accepted into mainstream radio which is a big deal. There hasn't been a country artist with a year long #1 CD in a long time.)

Do the research people. Stats don't lie. I saved the rap category for last because that's the category I have the most knowledge on. That's why I'm gonna post it on January 29, two days before the Grammys. Then after that, I will have a post where I count up all my prediction choices to see how many times I was correct. Well, there are my Rock predictions. Let's see how it all turns out on January 31. Oh, since I have time, I see a new category that I've never seen before in the Grammys. I guess they came out with a Music Video Category recently. I haven't seen this in the Grammys before. If they have been there, I must have missed them. Anyway, since this category is short, and since I have looked at the nominees' videos, I might as well do this category too. Even if it won't be on the Awards television program on January 31.

My Prediction: 1. Keith Urban, popularity 2. Chris Botti, we have seen this name on several Grammy nominees list throughout my posts

I am only going to do 3 more major categories since they are the most mainstream. R&B, Country, then Rap. The next post will be for R&B. Well, look who it is. It's Jay on the 2nd post. How is everyone doing? Special hello to the people at the Bridge class. And the teachers; Beth, Staci, Alice and whoever else has joined since then. I just wanna speak on some things I like to keep up with. This is going to be a long post. I like to cover music and the Billboard charts. The Grammys are at the end of next month so I want to predict who I think will win their category. Right now I'm just gonna do the General Category until I get more time and/or comments. My Prediction: 1. The Ting Tings, that song "That's Not My Name" was a high IPOD seller & you heard the song in numerous media commercials 2. Zac Brown Band, did well staying on the Billboard charts

From One Storm to Another

The personal story of Jeffrey Ames Parks:

"My name is Jeffrey Ames Parks. I was in a terrible storm called "Katrina." What a storm it was. It was such a terrible storm; it changed my entire life - more so than I ever thought imaginable. The reader of this is probably wondering, what do I mean by this? Please allow me to take the time to explain my words to you.

It all happened on 8/29/05 at 8:00 a.m. I will always remember that date for all the days of my life. Let me just say, to wake with water all over one's head is a nightmare in itself. The water that rose all the way to the roof.

Let me introduce the loves of my life that were so traumatically taken from me within a moment's time: First off, I have the beloved mother who birthed me. She had come from Terre Haute, Indiana to visit me and my family on our 18th wedding anniversary. She arrived in New Orleans on 8/5/05 at 9:00 p.m. Then, we have my wife of 18 years, Maria Keisha Torres Parks, whom I loved with all my life spirit. Maria gave me two babies who were twins. Their names are Asia Marie Torres Parks and Chad Jeremy Torres Parks. They were each 3 years old at the time of Katrina.

So, anyway, the waters took us to the roof of our house. All five of us found ourselves waiting on the roof for a helicopter because the water was so high. I had led the way to the roof with the twins in my arms: Asia in my left, Chad in my right. My wife was holding my belt buckle while my mom held her. We were waiting for the National Guard helicopter; an accident was waiting to happen.

We waited and waited with no apparent help in sight. All of a sudden, the nearby levee gave way. Water and more water pounded upon my very soul. We were swept up and on our way into the sea. Oh, how I went under! The chain we had formed broke within my very sight. Oh, what a tragic day that became part of the rest of my life! It is a day I will always remember, no matter what I do or say. I still always hear the baby's cry: "Help me, daddy, help me !!!!"

Two years later, I got a fateful call while I was in Dallas at the Convention Center. They had found the decomposing bodies. Transport was provided for me in order to determine if the remains were in fact my mom, wife and children. They were without a doubt because the clothes they had on were the same clothes they had on when I saw them last. The screams, the overwhelming loss -- I get choked up just thinking of it -- words will never explain. Just continue to pray for my strength in the Lord, so I don't go insane.

All I really wish and hope for with this story is that you cherish your loved one while you can because they will be gone one day. Thank you for reading, understanding and having the concern to pray for a wretch like me. Journey

In twilight I roam the multitude

Well, I came to a crossroad this week with my screenplay and found that trying to recreate SALIVATION was in a word...depressing. So I went back to the drawing board and found something a little more upbeat instead of dark and full of memories. So here is what I came up with.

Kyle Wisdom,13, is a chocoholic. Since birth he has been unable to pass up the incredible taste. He sees likes the feel in his mouth, the cravings he satisfies, the flavor and with each bite he is making memories.

Being raised by an overworked, underpayed, stressed mother, Kyle finds himself owing his neighbor for damaging his sprinklers system(I know kinda boring, but it's funny as hell in my brain). Around the same time he has to go to a family wedding in a posh hotel, of which him and his mother could not afford. There he gets to see not just the taste, but experiences the beauty of chocolate while watching the chef work through the swinging door of the kitchen. He gets and idea. If only he could somehow get a job with the che, he could make enough money to pay off the neighbor.

The pastry chef turns out to be an expatriot from France, very excentric and lives above the pastry shop. He has never allowed anyone to enter his domaine. With crazy sculptures of plants that seem real turn out to be made of candy(Kyle breaks them off during their first meeting as he is told to leave). Anyhoo, The Kyles mom goes to the pastry shop to defend her son, but walks away light headed(You know those French accents). Blah Blah Blah...It gets better, but you'll have to wait for the next installment to find out what's in THE CHOCOLATE BOX:-)
